Tones and I announces she’s ENGAGED to ‘secret boyfriend’ Jimmy Bedford

Tones and I has announced her engagement to her ‘secret boyfriend’ – footballer Jimmy Bedford. 

The fiercely private singer, whose real name is Toni Watson, revealed the happy news in an Instagram post on New Year’s Day. 

The 26-year-old shared a photo of the pair kissing as she held up her hand to show off her diamond ring.

In her caption, Tones simply added a ring emoji, as well as tagging Jimmy, who she has been dating for two years. 

The Melbourne-born pop star is currently touring around Victoria and NSW, busking to large groups of fans. 

She shared several videos on New Year’s Day showing a concert in a park in Albury, with Jimmy in tow.

Tones also posted clips in which Jimmy joined her and a group of friends as they camped and made videos on their way to the gig.

‘I have actually been with my partner for a year and a half now. It’s going so well. He’s just the perfect person for me,’ she told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson on the show.

‘He was a brickie [bricklayer], and now he’s my stage tech. In the last year and a half, he’s gone to university, studied, got his Bachelors. 

‘He comes on tour with me as my stage tech. He lives with us. He plays footy for Frankston Bombers. He’s my best friend, he’s hilarious,’ she said.

Tones then explained that Jimmy appeared in a recent promotional video for her new album, which she shared to Instagram.  

In the clip, Jimmy, who bears a striking resemblance to Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, plays a bartender who comedically praises the singer’s ‘tunes’.    

That same month, Jimmy plugged the new album from Tones and I, Welcome To The Madhouse, in a Facebook post.

He wrote that Tones is an, ‘absolute musical genius and the greatest person I know!’

The pair have appeared together in a small handful of Instagram posts, including one which tones shared in August last year, that was captioned: ‘I love you’.   

Elsewhere in the interview, Tones addressed questions about her sexuality, and says that she does not consider gender when it comes to romance.

Tones became an overnight smash success thanks to her 2019 number one hit song, Dance Monkey, and released her debut studio album, Welcome To The Madhouse, earlier this year.
