A former topless waitress has avoided jail after successfully appealing a ‘severe sentence’ for hiding her boyfriend’s drug dealing.

Nateesha Jennifer Barlin had been jailed for 14 months – with a non-parole period of six months – after concealing Dylan Shaw’s drug syndicate on the NSW Central Coast.

Appearing at the Gosford District Court on Tuesday, the 24-year-old had the non-parole period reduced to three months.

She will be allowed to serve the reduced sentence in the community, the Central Coast Express Advocate reported.

Her solicitor said her loyalty to Shaw was part of the reason she had offended and that both had pleaded guilty.

The couple were arrested in November 2016 following a sting by Australian Border Force that led them to grab steroids Shaw was selling – including 11.2 litres of testosteone, 20 vials of human growth hormone and 600ml of anabolic steroids.

Shaw was sentenced to a minimum of 11 months for importing and distributing steroids.

He is currently awaiting sentencing on other matters.
