Tori Spelling looks tearful as she sits in her car after news of Luke Perry’s death

Tori Spelling looked heartbroken while out with her family following the news that longtime pal and former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Luke Perry died on Monday.

Sitting in her car in Calabasas, the 45-year-old appeared somber and tearful, remaining inside the vehicle as husband Dean McDermott ran some errands with kids Liam and Stella.

The outing came as it was reported Luke, who suffered a massive stroke five days ago, died in hospital on Monday morning surrounded by family. He was 52.

Luke is survived by son Jack, 21, and daughter Sophie, 18, with ex-wife Rachel ‘Minnie’ Sharp.

Following the tragic news tributes have been flooding in from Luke’s 90210 costars as well as countless other celebrities and fans sharing stories of the actor’s kindness and humble demeanor over the years.

‘The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning,’ his agent Arnold Robinson said in a statement.

Luke was hospitalized on February 27, the same day Fox announced it was rebooting 90210, featuring six of the original stars including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.

Luke was not confirmed to be returning due to his filming commitments for CW drama Riverdale.

‘It is the OG crew back together, and we’re playing heightened versions of ourselves,’ Tori said of the project in an interview with Access Live last month.

‘The fans will be pleasantly surprised, though, because we will intercut that with scenes from the show,’ she added.

‘So it will be a whole ensemble cast playing heightened versions of themselves, almost everybody,’ Tori added.

Tori starred with Luke in Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1990 to 2000. They are pictured with costars Ian Ziering, James Eckhouse, Carol Potter, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty

Asked about which cast members would be returning, Tori explained, ‘Well, Luke has Riverdale, so Luke will do as many as he can do, but almost the whole original cast,’

When asked about Shannen Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh for the first four seasons of the original series, Tori said she hasn’t signed on, but they would love to have her come back.

‘We would love to have her on, we would,’ she said. ‘There is no status right now, but if she’s watching, we’d love to have you do it.’
