Tori Spelling is trying to maintain an amicable relationship with her ex Dean McDermott amid persistent divorce rumors after 15 years of marriage.
During an appearance on Thursday’s episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, the 48-year-old actress questioned about her holiday shopping.
‘What are we getting Dean, anything?’ the podcast host, 51, asked in a sly way of pressing for more information about her rocky romance.

After taking a few seconds to craft the perfect response, Spelling replied: ‘Yes, of course. The kids are getting him something.’
When asked if she would help her little ones spring for something nice or if they would have to ‘use their own money,’ Spelling assured Lewis that she would be ‘contributing.’
The Flipping Out star proceeded to grill the mom-of-five what she would be buying him, to which she inquired about what he would be purchasing for his ex Gage Edward, who he shares five-year-old Monroe Christine Lewis.

‘No, no. Nothing,’ he fired back while shaking his head as the 90210 alum explained the present would be from his daughter.
Spelling responded: ‘Monroe has to get him something because that’s how it works.’
‘That’s cute, actually,’ Lewis remarked, before musing his past love should just buy himself something with the child support he provides.
‘Monroe’s going to want to buy himself. And you’re going to have to buy it, pick it out and wrap it. And write a little card from her and that’s how it goes,’ Spelling told him.

Earlier this week, it was reported Spelling still has ‘major trust issues’ with McDermott nearly eight years after it was revealed he cheated on her.
Sources told PEOPLE magazine that ‘they’ve grown apart’ through the years and Tori is trying her best to prioritize their five children, Liam, 14, Stella, 13, Hattie, 10, Finn, 9, and Beau, 4.
‘Things have been chilly between them,’ says an insider. ‘Tori is trying to figure out what to do next. And she’s always focused on her kids.’

Dean has been noticeably missing from the family’s roster of holiday decor, including their annual holiday card and stockings hung by the fireplace.
‘They have issues that are hard to remedy,’ the source said. ‘And they don’t have the same relationship they once did.’
The insider added: ‘Part of their relationship was never fully repaired after he was unfaithful. Tori doesn’t want to break up her family. But marriages with five children need to have a lot of trust.’
Dean cheated on Tori in December 2013 with Emily Goodhand while on location shooting Chopped Canada.

The cheating scandal was documented on their Lifetime series True Tori where she cried out during a couples therapy session: ‘I can never give him enough sex!’
Following the cheating scandal, Dean checked into rehab in early 2014 to ‘address some health and personal issues.’
Tori recently claimed in the comments of her Dean-free family photo that her husband had been out of the country while working on a film role.
Dean’s absence from the family holiday card marks his second time missing the shoot, as he was also absent from the couple’s 2020 card due to another work shoot.
‘Dean must be ‘working’ out of town and couldn’t get home in time for the annual Christmas picture,’ the user wrote, along with a winking emoji to indicate their sarcasm.

But they were right on the mark as far as the actress was concerned.

The couple — who celebrated their 15-year wedding anniversary in May — has ‘hit a another bump’ and Tori’s not so sure this one’s worth riding out as Dean ‘went missing’ for two days after their latest argument and Tori feels ‘trapped’ in their marriage, according to US Weekly.
Tori and Dean reportedly ‘constantly fight,’ but this particular argument was ‘really serious’ and Spelling is ‘miserable’ with her husband.
She has tried counseling and has ‘sucked it up’ for the sake of her kids who seemingly ‘have no idea what’s going on,’ but it’s all becoming too much for the podcast host.
In addition to their marital woes, money has been a huge source of stress for the couple as an insider revealed ‘money is an issue and it’s always been an issue.’
