Footage shows the upset man, who was believed to be 23 at the time, being held in a comforting embrace by Attard as he tells him to ‘turn the negative into a positive’.

Following this Attard amazingly coaxes the onlookers to join him in shouting ‘I am strong’ to show the distressed individual how much support he has.

Attard told the man he was loved and that he wanted to be his friend in a touching conversation.

¿I said to him, ¿Are you having a bad day?'¿ Attard (pictured) told reporters at the time. ¿He says, ¿Yes, I want to hurt myself.¿ That¿s when I just kind of embraced him and hugged him.¿
