Tottenham are close to agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign forward Brennan Johnson before the end of the transfer deadline. 

Spurs have already had a £40m offer rejected by Forest, but a deal for the Welsh forward is now moving quickly.  

The north London club had wanted to confirm some further outgoings from the club before making an new offer for the 22-year-old and they remain confident in getting those deals over the line. 

Japhet Tanganga is close to agreeing a move to Bundesliga side Augsburg, while Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier could all also leave the club before the end of the day. 

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is also reported to have been the subject of a bid from London rivals Fulham.

Johnson is still attracting interest from a number of other Premier League clubs, namely Brentford, but Spurs look to be winning the race to sign him.

He played in Forest’s Carabao Cup defeat to Burnley in midweek, which now looks like his final game for the club.    

With Johnson on the verge of leaving the City Ground, Forest look to have already secured an attacking replacement, as they close in on a deal for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi. 

Steve Cooper’s men look to have beaten off competition from Fulham for the winger’s signature, who’s in the final year of his deal at Stamford Bridge. 

His arrival would continue the busy final week for Forest, who have already completed deals for Brazilian defender Murillo and Nuno Tavares who has moved from Arsenal.
