Tottenham ban 48 supporters for selling tickets to Red Star Belgrade fans

Tottenham ban 48 supporters for selling tickets to Red Star Belgrade fans in Champions League clash… despite Serbian fans being banned for racist chanting in qualifying round

  • Number of Red Star Belgrade fans gained entry into Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
  • One Hotspur members purchased multiple tickets and illegally sold them on
  • Serbian side had been banned form selling tickets to their fans for the fixture

Tottenham have handed indefinite bans to 48 supporters who sold tickets on to Red Star Belgrade supporters for last week’s Champions League match.

The Serbian side were banned from selling tickets to their fans for the fixture after being found guilty of racism in the qualifying round, but a large number made their way into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The club launched a full investigation and found almost 50 One Hotspur members purchased multiple tickets and illegally sold them on.

Around 150 Red Star Belgrade fans were at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week

Spurs had been unable to put tickets on general sale for fear of them being bought by Red Star supporters.

The Red Star supporters were caught by home fans, who shared videos on social media.

Daily Hotspur tweeted: ‘Not sure they support Tottenham’, alongside a video of the fans.

Spurs fan Luke Bailey added that ‘quite a large contingent’ had made their way into one of the home ends.

It is the second consecutive year the punishment has been handed out to Red Star.

Last year their fans were unable to buy tickets for group games with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool.
