Tottenham’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele has had an immediate impact, according to team-mates Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
The two Spurs strikers hailed the £64million arrival after he came off the bench to set up one and almost score another in Sunday’s dramatic 3-2 friendly victory over Juventus in Singapore.
Kane, whose injury time wonder hit from the halfway line won the match, feels that the new man can provide the missing link to move the Champions League finalists to the next level.

‘He’s been great,’ said the England forward. ‘He intercepted that ball very well and put that ball through to Lucas (for Tottenham’s second). That’s a strength of his – playing that through ball, that forward pass.
‘That’s maybe something we’ve missed over the last year or so. That really decisive pass in the final third. He looks like he can do that. With any player who comes in, he’s still learning – how we play and the way we want him to play, and the manager wants him to play. That’s all we can ask for.’
Spurs infamously failed to enter the transfer market last summer but Kane reckons Frenchman Ndombele’s arrival from Lyon has given the group a boost. ‘It’s always nice – fresh face, new energy, new feelings and he’s a fantastic player, who is only going to help us,’ he said.

‘We’re building a good squad, good depth. These players are great for fitness and integrating young players into the squad. So far, so good.’ Kane is not the only one to have been impressed. ‘I’m really, really enjoying being with him,’ said Son.
‘He’s a funny guy. I’ve tried to speak to him, we understand very, very good. I can’t wait to play together. He’s an unbelievable player we signed. He needs time, the players next to him have to help.’
The only issue Son has had is helping the new man settle in. ‘I wish I could speak French!’ he joked. ‘I’ve tried to speak a lot to him – I don’t know if it’s helpful. He’s a quality player. He knows how to play so I don’t have to speak a lot. It’s most important he feels at home.’
Son Heung-Min said the midfielder has settled in quickly and he ‘can’t wait to play with him’
