Tottenham fans explode in joy as team score last minute goal to reach Champions League final

In another jaw-dropping night for football fans across the globe, Tottenham have become the latest to stage an unbelievable Champions League comeback – this time against Ajax.

Fans have been reacting with amazement after right-winger Lucas Moura scored a stoppage-time winner to complete a hat-trick and seal a sensational 3-2 win for the Spurs.

The team had been 3-0 down at halftime, after allowing Ajax to score two goals in the first half. But Spurs rallied spectacularly in the second half to produce an historic victory.

Two English clubs will now battle it out in the Champions League final, after Liverpool yesterday staged a similarly remarkable fight back against Barcelona.

Speaking to BT Sport, former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle said we’d seen ‘two footballing miracles’ over the past couple of nights.

Tottenham looked down and out at halftime after skipper Matthijs de Ligt’s fifth-minute header and a superb 35th minute effort by Hakim Ziyech put Ajax in complete command of the tie having won the first leg 1-0 in London last week.

The celebratory mood in the jam-packed Johan Cruyff Arena turned to one of nailbiting tension after Brazilian Moura scored twice in four minutes early in the second half to put Spurs within a goal of going through.

Ziyech hit the post for Ajax who appeared to have weathered the storm but Moura struck past Andre Onana to flatten the Ajax players and send the away fans into delirium.

He tweeted ‘an incredible result, what a comeback’ which was followed by praise from sporting royalty in the form of basketball great LeBron James, who added: ‘Amazing night for the Reds. Wow.’

Jurgen Klopp’s men may have thought their name was on the trophy after the manner of their comeback against Barcelona, but Spurs will have other ideas and it promises to be a brilliant spectacle in Madrid on June 1.
