Tottenham are in talks with Barcelona over a deal for right-back Emerson Royal.
The Spanish side are desperate to raise money and Tottenham hope to take advantage as they look to bring in a new right-back before Tuesday’s deadline.
Tottenham had initially offered Serge Aurier in exchange for Emerson but that was rejected by Barca who rate the Brazilian highly.

Spurs offered Serge Aurier as part of the deal but the Catalans rejected that possibility
Emerson joined Barcelona in a £7million transfer earlier this summer and has played in two LaLiga games for the Catalans this season, but the club’s financial woes mean they are desperate to sell players.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed earlier this month that the Catalans’ debt is now at £1.15billion, blaming his predecessor Joan Laporta for the financial ruin.
Lille also hold interest in Aurier as they look to replace Zeki Celik who is talking to Atletico Madrid. Aurier’s sale would help cover the cost of a deal for 22-year-old Emerson who only rejoined Barca this season after being on loan at Real Betis.
Tottenham have been in talks with Bologna for Takehiro Tomiyasu but, after a £12m fee seemed within reach, the Italians pushed for around £17m.

Spurs have also put a deal in place to sign £12m-rated midfielder Ilaix Moriba from Barcelona
Other Premier League sides have also shown an interest in Tomiyasu and Tottenham could yet go back for the 22-year-old Japan international if a deal cannot be reached on Emerson.

Tottenham sold Moussa Sissoko to Watford on Friday and could sell Davinson Sanchez and Harry Winks as the window reaches the final stages.
They have signed Pape Sarr from Metz but he will be loaned back for a season while they have been rebuffed in their bid to sign Adama Traore from Wolves.
