Tottenham left back Danny Rose appeared less than impressed by Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to hook him after 70 minutes against APOEL on Wednesday night.
The defender was hoping to take his chance after he was handed a starting berth in Spurs’ 3-0 win over the Cypriot outfit, but was substituted following an eye injury.
The England international made his anger known after he was jettisoned by Pochettino for the north London derby at the end of last month, claiming to be ‘fuming’ at the decision.

He came together with APOEL’s Roland Sallai which resulted in both players getting booked
It also resulted in a bloodied eye for the Tottenham defender and he needed treatment
Mauricio Pochettino appeared to tell him not to rush as he would be substituted from the game
But Rose was afforded the chance to impress in Spurs’ final Champions League group clash, but a gruesome eye injury curtailed his evening.
He was forced to come off for treatment after he was involved in a clash with Roland Sallai, which saw them both booked.
Rose hoped to continue after receiving treatment, but Pochettino appeared to tell the player not to rush as he was about to be replaced by Kyle Walker-Peters.
The Spurs defender then stormed off down the touchline, feeling his chance to shine had been unfairly cut short by the incident.

He made a bee-line for the bench, unimpressed that his chance to shine was curtailed
It came to light, however, that Rose needed stitches for the cut and Pochettino said the doctor had stated that it was not possible for the player to carry on.
‘Never the player are happy when they are going out,’ Pochettino told BT Sport after the game.
‘He had a big cut above his eye. The doctor say he need a stitch and it was impossible to play.
‘He was frustrated of course because he was an opportunity to play in the Champions League but it was an accident and nothing more.’
The Argentine manager checked on his player after the game, however, ensuring his injury was fine before shaking hands at the tunnel entrance.

Former Spurs star Jermaine Jenas conceded after the game that this stop-start season for Rose, which has yielded just seven appearances in all competitions, has not been ideal.
‘It’s frustrating season for Danny, there’s no shying away from that,’ Jenas said on BT Sport. ‘To be fair to him, I spoke to him before the game, he’s trying to get his head down and get his fitness back.
‘There were moments for him in the game that were positive but it was different with Kevin Nkoudou because it didn’t allow him to get forward as much as he likes to do.’

Fellow BT pundit Glenn Hoddle believes the coming together between Rose and Sallai indicated that something is not right with the defender’s mindset.
‘[The incident with Sallai] is where there is something wrong inside him to do that,’ Hoddle said. ‘Spurs are 2-0 up, you’re coasting and it’s a game you don’t need to win and he’s got himself wound up.
‘They’ve made a call on [the cut], it’s the right call, it needs to be stitched.
‘He goes back out on to the pitch with his team-mates [at the end of the game] and that somebody whose attitude is OK at the minute.
Jenas added: ‘I think [Rose] just wanted to play and Mauricio, understanding the game and the squad situation, has just said get it sorted out, get it stitched up.
‘We can blow a lot of things out of proportion and I don’t think that’s one we need to.’
