Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan condemned the man’s actions.

‘You can’t control people being idiots,’ he told 7 News.

‘If people want to be idiots, it’s really tough to stop them.’

Just two weeks ago Ankit, a 20-year-old student studying in Perth, was at The Gap when he went over the designated path and viewing platform.

His friend Sahil Khenchi, who was with him that day, released one of the last photos taken of the Indian exchange student just moments before his untimely death.

Despite the area being guarded by fences and warning signs, commonly, visitors will jump over the barriers to snap some photos near the cliff’s edge.
