Nationwide Towing and Transport told Daily Mail Australia they were aware of the incident and a full review is underway as the driver appears to have not followed their safety policies.

‘Nationwide takes matters like these seriously as the safety of our drivers, motorists and the wider public is of paramount importance to us,’ National Fleet Manager & Victorian Operations Manager Mark Beveridge said.

‘[The company] has comprehensive training and auditing processes in place to ensure we keep our drivers and the public safe at all times.’

‘Drivers are trained to perform site safety assessments for all pickups and deliveries to ensure all hazards and risks are appropriately identified and controls implemented.’

‘Nationwide is shocked and extremely disappointed with the driver’s actions, and we will deal with them accordingly.’

‘We have issued a safety alert across our national business network, alerting Nationwide operations in other states to the incident and the gravity of the breach concerned.’
