‘He was just saying that he was going out and he would be back at 6pm but he didn’t come home,’ she said.

‘Then I woke up this morning knowing that he’s still not here.’

Farhan was raised alongside his 15-year-old cousin Fiqa and the teenager said she has never been apart from him before.

She described him as caring and protective.

Farhan’s aunty Nadia Sazali said he always put himself before others and was a ‘joker’ who was a ‘very good son’.

‘He’s a good human… a loving boy, he’s got a lot of personality,’ she said.

Another of Fahran’s family members – Rustom Sarabusing – wrote a loving tribute to him on Facebook.

‘Not only do I feel like I have lost a son but a brother and friend as well,’ she wrote.

‘You have left a void in my life and I will miss the sunshine that you bring when you’re around. I love you big boy.’

‘Early investigations suggest the boy was travelling down a hill and attempted to slow down prior to crashing into a pole,’ Queensland Police said in a statement.

Police said Farhan was wearing a helmet.

‘A number of adults and the other children he was with came to his aid,’ the spokesperson said.

The family are now desperately trying to raise money to get Fahran’s body home, as Muslim tradition dictates a person must be buried as soon as possible.

Fahran’s family have sent up a fundraising page in order to help bring him home.

‘My brother and sister-in-law not only have to bear the grief of losing a son, but also finding finance in having to send their son’s body back home to Malaysia,’ the page said.

‘So I ask, to all my family and friends, please share and donate to help get my nephew back home so he can be laid to rest.’
