A former Maryland school track coach who has HIV has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing students and filming child pornography.
Carlos Deangelo Bell, 30, admitting guilt on 27 counts, including sexual abuse of a minor, porn charges, and attempted transmission of HIV.
The offenses occurred for a period of about two years starting in May 2015.
There were 42 victims ranged in age from 11 to 17 years old.
Bell worked as a teacher’s aide at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School in Waldorf.
He was also a track coach for La Plata high School and an employee at JP Ryon Elementary in Waldorf and McDonough High School in Pomfret.

He will be sentenced in March with prosecutors aiming to put him in prison for the rest of his life with a sentence of up to 190 years in jail.
Investigators aren’t aware of any victims who have tested positive for HIV.
‘If you don’t think I’ve asked myself thousands of times, since learning, you’re wrong,’ Charles County Superintendent Kim Hill told reporters at the time of Bell’s arrest.
‘It is devastating to us that something like this could take place in a classroom – in a school building where adults are charged with taking care of children.’
Last December, police received a tip from a parent alleging that Bell was engaging in questionable behavior with one of his students on the track team.
‘A parent observed suspicious text messages on a child’s phone that were sexual in nature,’ Sheriff Troy Berry said.
After his arrest, Bell informed law enforcement officials that he was HIV positive.
