Traffic chaos expected at Sydney Airport as truck rolls on the M5 and forces motorway closure

  • A truck rolled on the M5, causing disruption for motorists around Sydney airport
  • Travellers were urged to allow extra time to get to airport as diversions in place
  • M5 on-ramp at Arncliffe from West Botany St has been closed for investigators

Traffic chaos is expected near Sydney Airport this morning after a truck rolled on the M5. 

Travellers have been urged to allow extra time to get to the airport as diversions are in place. 

No one was injured in the crash, however the M5 on-ramp at Arncliffe, from West Botany St and Marsh St, has been closed while investigations are underway. 

Traffic chaos is expected near Sydney Airport this morning after a truck rolled on the M5

Scrap metal must be cleared from the site before a truck can be brought in to flip the trip back over and tow it away.

The on-ramp is expected to be closed for hours as it also needs to be inspected by engineers for safety.

Eastbound traffic has not been affected. 

Motorists leaving the international airport can use Airport Drive, Joyce Drive, and then General Holmes Drive to enter the M5 motorway just past the airport tunnel. 

Those leaving the domestic airport have been advised to use Joyce Drive, and then General Holmes Drive to enter the M5 motorway just past the airport tunnel.
