This is the moment a fearless lollypop lady confronted two gun-wielding robbers as they made their escape from a jewellery heist.

Two brazen thieves burst into Ashmore Jewellery Store, in the Gold Coast, around 3pm on Wednesday, backing a 63-year-old female employee into a corner.

The assailants smashed glass cabinets with hammers and ripped items from shelves into bags, before one man struck the female attendant in the face with his gun.

But as the men ran from the business, a female traffic controller standing outside the store bravely confronted the robbers while one pointed a gun at her.

A female traffic controller stood up against two callous thieves by throwing a chair at one who threatened her with a gun

Refusing to back down, she lobbed a plastic chair towards them and demanded they leave.

‘Get out! You leave. Get out,’ she yelled fiercely.

The men fled in a blue Commodore without number plates, which was located abandoned nearby.

Queensland Police said the shop attendant suffered minor facial injuries.

The men, who hid their faces beneath halloween masks, fleeced thousands of dollars worth of goods.

Ashmore Jewellers owner Brad Mojic, whose wife passed away two weeks ago, said he was thankful his employee was not seriously injured.

‘Thank god,’ he told 9News. ‘I’m disgusted people can do that.’

Police are searching for the two men and a male getaway driver.

Anyone who may see them is urged not to approach them.
