A young father who tragically died in a motel room has been named amid an outpouring of grief over the loss of the ‘role model’ and ‘thrill seeker’.

Tyeson Mackie, 27, died suddenly at the Carrier-Arms Hotel Motel on Alice Street at Maryborough in Queensland on Saturday morning.

Paramedics found Tyeson in a critical condition after officers responded to reports of a young man in distress at the motel at 9.30am.

But despite their efforts emergency services were unable to revive the father of two.

Police established a crime scene at the motel while his cause of death has not been revealed.

His younger brother Lachie Mackie posted a gut-wrenching tribute on social media on Monday saying his late brother had ‘taught me so much’.
