Train driver suspended after caught dozing off in China

Video footage shows the moment a train driver is caught dozing off at the controls by a shocked passenger. 

The driver was filmed in Changchun City, northeastern China earlier this month. 

The company that owns the train network has said that they are investigating the case further.

All of a sudden, his head starts to bob up and down and he has fallen asleep.

According to Changchun transit, they are investigating the case and the driver has been suspended. 

The spokesman did not comment on whether the light rail system is automated or manned. 

People have been discussing the video on social media site Weibo. 

One user commented: ‘His thumb seems to still be holding the button.’ 

While another wrote: ‘Tired with no rest, you can’t blame him.’
