The truck appeared to be carrying an empty car hauler.

The train stuck the empty truck and dragged it for some distance before coming to a stop.

Federal data shows Texas saw 80 incidents involving rail crossings of roads in the first five months of 2017.

The state had 33 non-fatal injuries and two fatalities from rail-highway crossing incidents in that time period.
