Travel: Royal Hideaway Corales Resort, Tenerife

An escape from the hustle and bustle of your everyday norm, Royal Hideaway Corales Resort in Tenerife is the perfect destination to fully immerse yourself in a carefree, relaxed and indulgent weekend or a blissful week away. It opened in February 2018 on an island where, for apparently 355 days of the year, you can enjoy the blazing sun – good weather is almost certainly guaranteed.

Driving up to the recently opened five star resort located on the Costa Adeje, you cannot help but notice the design led luxury build set at the end of a number of hotels alike with stars. It does well to stand out amongst the crowd with its pristine white curved walls and glass details. Designed by interior designers MKV London Studio and Spanish architect Leonardo Omar, the exterior is only a note to the luxury that follows. The contemporary design takes inspiration from natural elements with the use of coral cut material, stone and wood.

You make your way to the room through the open air corridors, taking in the sea breeze keen to see what awaits on the other side. Every room is well designed with balconies that look out onto the hotel gardens and pool, views reaching out to the beach and Atlantic Ocean – it does not take you long to feel completely settled and relaxed. The host for the 2 night stay was a huge open plan junior suite (there are 121 junior suites in the adult only side) with a very comfy large bed (about 5 pillows which I am a big fan of, plus a pillow menu to pick your suited type), a large bath as you enter the room, walking through into the lounge area and out to the balcony where you can sit at the dining table or relax on the double sofa bed taking in the view that travels for miles.

The family friendly rooms can range from a one to three bed, including a having your own living room, kitchen and terrace – with 54 including a private heated pool. It is the perfect fit for up to six people to stay, what more could you ask for! As you walk into the reception on this part of the complex you are greeted with a cave inspired wall with visual effects projected upon it to keep your children well entertained – it makes for an impressive show. If you are in need of a slow morning but the kids are keen to be outside this is the perfect win for all of you.
