Trent Alexander-Arnold has been backed to become the Premier League’s best right back one day, surpassing Gary Neville.
That’s the view of Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher who believes Alexander-Arnold will change the perception of that position.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a sublime start to his professional career – having won the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Alexander-Arnold has a long way to go to emulate Neville, who won 17 major honours with Manchester United, but Carragher believes he will reach that level.
‘I think there is a young lad at Liverpool who will take that mantle from Neville,’ Carragher told Sky Sports.
‘I once said how people don’t grow up wanting to be Gary Neville but I think a lad from Liverpool will change that.’
Alexander-Arnold has been a virtual ever-present under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp since he broke through into the first-team in 2016.
The England international has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the Reds this season, before it was halted indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
