Tribe Skincare: The ‘no makeup makeup’ brand that transforms your skin in seconds

A brand renowned for its ‘no makeup makeup’ is proving to be a runaway success with beauty lovers, who love the fact that the mineral products not only reduce redness and breakouts, but also transform the user’s skin in seconds.

Australian beauty expert Lauren Curtis recently shared a comparison photo of her skin with and without Tribe Skincare’s Mineral Makeup Powder ($65) on her face.

On one half of Lauren’s face, she wore nothing but moisturiser, while on the other half the blogger had the light loose mineral powder on.

The photo shows just how effective the foundation is at covering up Lauren’s blemishes and imperfections while simultaneously smoothing out her skin.

Lauren used the shade light/medium to achieve her radiant look, and said the product offers ‘full coverage’, but still leaves you looking ‘natural and glowing’.

‘This is my before and after using only Tribe Skincare’s loose mineral powder foundation on my skin – no re-touching,’ Lauren posted on Instagram.

‘Not only is it super quick to apply, but it keeps your skin looking like skin – whether you opt for a light or full coverage.’

Lauren added: ‘It also looks a whole lot more natural under the eyes as it creases less than foundation and concealer’.

Zinc Oxide is a powerful anti-inflammatory that reduces facial redness and heals broken skin and breakouts.

The powder is non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types, including those who struggle with sensitive skin or are prone to blackheads and breakouts.

Tribe recommend you go slow with application, and build up the formula in areas where more is required.

The product is ideally applied with a brush, rather than your fingers.

‘The most beautiful, natural and flawless makeup,’ one reviewer posted.

‘I’m so pale and this light colour was a perfect match for me – I love the way it blends perfectly with your skin tone.’

Another added: ‘I feel “alive” when I have this on, and don’t feel like I’m wearing something heavy on my face. Thank you for creating the perfect makeup’.

Tribe Skincare was founded by beauty therapist Kayla Houlihan, 30, from Geelong, Victoria, in 2018.

Since then, it has enjoyed huge success, even selling more than 465 bottles of the $58 Protect Me! Day Moisturiser with SPF30 in one day in late 2019.

Made with natural ingredients including zinc oxide, which protects against harmful solar rays that burn and age skin, the moisturiser claims to leave your face hydrated and silky with a non-greasy, matte finish, making it perfect for use as a makeup base.

The sunscreen is made with all-natural ingredients and large quantities of purified zinc, something Kayla believes sets it apart from other offerings.

‘Australians associate zinc with the thick white paste that we were forced to wear as kids,’ she told FEMAIL at the time.

‘Zinc offers incredible protection from the harsh Aussie sun, but we needed to create something really wearable.

‘By using smaller particles of zinc set in a luxe, silky and mattifying formula, we have created a one-step routine for Aussies in the morning, with their daily moisturiser, sun protection and makeup-base all in one.’
