Trump administration employee calls reporter Miss Piggy

A former Trump event planner who now holds a job in the administration has apologized after she called a reporter ‘Miss Piggy’ in an ugly Twitter spat.

Lynne Patton, who heads a regional office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, publicly lashed out at White House correspondent April Ryan on Wednesday.

‘I hear #MissPiggys still on a rampage. Gee, I must’ve struck a nerve @AprilDRyan! #BankruptBlogger,’ Patton tweeted alongside a screenshot of one of Ryan’s TV interviews.

She deleted the tweet soon after and followed up with an apology.

‘I deleted my last tweet by choice. No one from this Administration contacted me. It was beneath me & I apologize to @AprilDRyan,’ Patton wrote.

‘My parents raised me to respect others & I regret my response. I apologize to them, @SecretaryCarson & the Trump family. They deserved better.’

The fiery Twitter spat kicked off after Ryan appeared on CNN and said she was among those to receive death threats as a direct result of President Trump’s repeated attacks on the media.

Patton hit back at the reporter’s concerns, saying: ‘As a conservative black female who has publicly worked for & supported @realDonaldTrump, I’ve been getting death threats from fellow minorities on the left for the past 3 years -so welcome to the club. @AprilDRyan.’

The pair exchanged blows over Twitter with Patton firing off a series of gifs to Ryan calling her a bankrupt blogger and eventually dropping the Miss Piggy insult.

Ryan hit back telling Patton that she was not a blogger and asked: ‘Do you work at HUD or play at it you washed up wedding planner. Girl bye!’

The reporter later thanked her Twitter followers for the support.

‘For the record I don’t know this woman @LynnePattonHUD and don’t know why my name is in her mouth. Since she started targeting me yesterday over my death threats I have found out,’ she tweeted.
