Trump depicted as Avengers supervillain Thanos in new campaign video

Trump depicts himself as Avengers supervillain Thanos in new campaign video  – but is mocked by its Marvel creator because character is a MURDERER who gets destroyed

  • Trump campaign team responded to rumbling impeachment probe Tuesday
  • Shared video of Avengers supervillain Thanos wiping out Pelosi and Democrats
  • But character’s creator called Trump ‘sick’ for wanting to be a murderous villain
  • Others pointed out that in the scene Thanos is soon to be defeated by Iron Man

The Trump campaign team has responded to the rumbling impeachment probe with a clip from an Avengers movie scene depicting the president as the supervillain Thanos.

Rather than wiping out the universe with a click of his fingers like in the Marvel Comics movie, Trump snaps his fingers to wipe out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat coterie.

On Tuesday morning, Pelosi and her colleagues unveiled two articles of impeachment against Trump, prompting the furious response, ‘WITCH HUNT,’ he tweeted.

Later in the afternoon the 21-second edited Avengers clip was shared from the Trump War Room campaign twitter account, with the caption: ‘House Democrats can push their sham impeachment all they want.’

In the clip, rather than wiping out the universe with a click of his fingers like in the Marvel Comics movie, Trump snaps his fingers and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats vanish in puff of smoke

‘President Trump’s reelection is inevitable.’

This a nod to Thanos’ memorable phrase, ‘I am inevitable.’

The clip trended online and even provoked a response from Thanos creator, the comic book writer and artist Jim Starlin.

‘After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous dang fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer. How sick is that?’ Starlin wrote on Instagram.

‘These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.’

Many also drew attention to the film’s plot which they said undermined the video.

In the children’s movie, Thanos snaps his fingers but then realizes the Infinity Stones needed to power the gauntlet are missing – they have been stolen by Iron Man.

The superhero then uses the powerful stones to destroy Thanos and his army.

One twitter user summarized the campaign’s video thus: ‘There’s several levels of fail here.

‘1: You’re comparing Trump to a genocidal warlord. 2: That same warlord killed half the universe, tortured one daughter, and murdered the others.

‘3: This is the scene where Thanos realizes he’s been tricked and defeated.’

Trump and his team have previously used edited videos of popular shows and movies such as Game of Thrones and The Dark Knight Rises.

The House Judiciary Committee is due to begin considering the charges against Trump – abuse of power and obstruction of Congress – on Wednesday evening and is expected to approve them on Thursday.

A vote by the full chamber next week is likely to make Trump the third U.S. president to be impeached by the House.
