Trump retweets ‘eclipse’ image of him blocking out Obama

President Donald Trump retweeted an image showing himself completely blocking out predecessor Barack Obama in the ‘best eclipse ever.’

The image capitalizes on the the eclipse frenzy from Monday, and shows a series of pictures of a smiling Trump moving to obscure black and white picture of the nation’s first African-American president.

In the images, Obama is seen grimacing with his eyes cast downward. The series of pictures show smiling, color images of Trump slowly replacing Obama, putting the Obama era behind him.

The president retweeted the image, by Twitter user Jerry Travone, without comment.

One problem with the eclipse comparison from Trump’s perspective is that it would appear to cast Obama as the sun, with Trump serving as the smaller celestial body blocking its rays from the earth.

But Trump has made little secret of his feelings about Obama over there years.

Trump rose to political fame by questioning the birth origins of Obama, who was born in Hawaii.

Trump vowed to undo Obama’s chief legislative accomplishments, including a repeal of Obamacare – something Trump has not yet been able to do, prompting his angry complaints about Republicans controlling Congress.

He has repeatedly said he inherited a ‘mess’ from his predecessor, and tried to reverse many of his policies through executive orders.

Travone had sent the image to Trump in response to an early tweet about the nation’s debt ceiling. That was also a bit of an Obama throwback, as Obama contended with repeated clashes with Republicans over the issue.

Travone had previously retweeted a post skeptical of the ability of an eclipse to do damage to eyesight.

‘If a solar eclips blocks the sun then how come you get blinded by looking directly towards it its fake,’ said the post, which had images of a hand blocking a sun between each word.

Trump drew derision online after he looked directly at the sun briefly while standing on a White House balcony before he put on his protective eye wear.

An image posted by Travone on Instagram does a send-up on the film ‘Saving Private Ryan’ by turning it into ‘changing ryan’s privates,’ which is described as a ‘Barry Obama clusterf—.’

It mocks Obama’s transgender military policy – which Trump announced on Twitter he was ending – and announces a ‘cast’ of Cailtlyn Jenner, Kristen Beck, and Chelsea Manning, who are pictured in military garb, as is Obama.
