President Trump shot back at former Vice President Joe Biden who had told a high school crowd that he would have physically pummeled anyone who disrespected women like Trump.
‘Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy,’ Trump wrote on Twitter Thursday morning. ‘Actually he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault.’
Trump suggested he would win that fight.
‘He doesn’t know me, but he would go down hard and fast, crying all the way,’ the president wrote. ‘Don’t threaten people Joe!”
Biden was speaking at an anti-sexual-assault rally at the University of Miami and brought up the infamous ‘grab them by the p****’ Access Hollywood video, which had almost derailed Trump’s campaign.
President Trump took to Twitter Thursday morning to call out former Vice President Joe Biden who had repeated comments he made in 2016 about beating up Trump for some of the things the president has said about women
President Trump dubbed the ex-vice president ‘Crazy Joe Biden,’ and suggested if the two really did have a physical altercation Trump would win
Joe Biden picked up where he left off in 2016 on Tuesday, taunting Donald Trump over his ‘grab them by the p***y’ boast – and saying he would have beat him to a pulp in high school
‘A guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, “I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it,”‘ Biden told his young audience.’They asked me if I’d like to debate this gentleman, and I said, “No.” I said, “If I were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him,”‘ the ex-veep continued, repeating remarks he made in 2016.
‘I’ve been in a lot of locker rooms my whole life,’ Biden added. ‘I’m a pretty damn good athlete. Any guy that talked that way was usually the fattest, ugliest S.O.B. in the room.’
The former vice president, 75, is seeing his stock rise among Democrats as the party casts about for the right standard-bearer to challenge the president in 2020.
But he has his own reputation as a handsy politician to live down.
Biden was known for touching, massaging and whispering to women during televised swearing-in ceremonies when he was a senator and the vice president.
One famous example came when then-Defense Secretary Ash Carter tool his oath.
With Carter just feet away, Biden rubbed his wife’s shoulders and whispered into her ears.
In another ‘Creepy Joe’ moment, he did the same thing to Sen. Christopher Coons’ 13-year-old daughter
Biden’s habits were so well-known that Barack Obama joked about it during the 2015 White House Correspondents Dinner.
‘Joe rubs my shoulders too,’ Obama said. ‘I just wanted everybody to know. He does. It’s not bad, it feels pretty good. I don’t let him give me a pedicure, but …’
Trump’s presidential campaign was nearly derailed after his decade-old ‘Access Hollywood’ hot-mic audio surfaced – but he’s president now and already attracting potential 2020 challengers
Biden has his own reputation as a handsy politician to live down, including this moment in 2015 when he gave Secretary of Defense Ash Carter’s wife a suggestive backrub in public
Still,Biden has flexed his teenage muscles in Trump’s direction before.
His earlier taunt came shortly after the now infamous decade-old audio from ‘Access Hollywood’ emerged in the late stages of the 2016 campaign – showing Trump boasting that famous men can grab women ‘by the p***y’ with impunity.’
‘The press always asks me, “Don’t I wish I were debating him?”‘ he told a Hillary Clinton rally crowd in Pennsylvania in late October that year.
‘No, I wish we were in high school. I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish.’
Biden is 75 years old but could be gearing up for one last attempt to win the White House outright after eight years of standing in Barack Obama’s shadow
Biden first bragged about being able to beat Donald Trump to a pulp during speeches at Ohio and Pennsylvania Hillary Clinton rallies a few weeks before the 2016 election
Biden also said of Trump that ‘what he said he did, and does, is a textbook definition of sexual assault.’
‘It’s more than that. He said, “Because I’m famous, because I’m a star, because I’m a billionaire, I can do things other people can’t.” What a disgusting assertion for anyone to make.’
Three days later in Ohio, he piled on.
‘All kidding aside, wouldn’t you?’ Biden asked Clinton’s audience.
‘I mean, for real. Can you imagine a guy in the locker room talking that way? And your sister’s out there watching the game! Not a joke.’
Trump responded to Biden’s 2016 ridicule by saying he’d welcome a fight: ‘He wants to bring me to the back of the barn! Ooooh!’
Trump told ‘Access Hollywood’ host Billy Bush (right) in 2005 that famous, powerful men can sexually abuse attractive women and get away with it
The next day in Florida, Trump cast Biden as the bully and himself as an adolescent who’s been stuffed into a locker one too many times.
‘Did you see where Biden wants to take me to the back of the barn? Me!’ he asked a raucous crowd, botching Biden’s words. ‘I’d love that, Mr. Tough Guy!’
‘You know when he’s Mr. Tough Guy? When he’s standing behind a microphone by himself!’ Trump said.
‘He wants to bring me to the back of the barn! Ooooh!’ he mocked.
‘Some things in life you can really love doing.’
