TSB and Aldi have become the latest businesses to hand staff more money to help them deal with the rising cost of living.

Around 4,500 staff at TSB are to be given a £1,000 bonus. The payment will be made to all those at the bank earning £35,000 or less and will be made in two stages – one in October and another in February.

Aldi will give 26,000 store workers across the UK a second pay rise since the start of the year as inflation keeps surging.

The German discount supermarket, which runs 970 stores in the UK, said store assistants will see with their minimum pay increase to £10.50 an hour, and £11.95 for those in Greater London.
