  • Turkeys in quiet Florida neighborhood have been terrorizing residents
  • Apparently they have been charging at the children and pecking at cars
  • Officials from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have advised people to raise their voices or squirt a water bottle at them to scare them away

Residents in a neighborhood in Longwood, Florida have been left frightened after constant harassment from turkeys.

Neighbors said the wild turkeys have been seen charging at children and pecking at cars and almost ‘everyone’s been stalked by the turkeys,’ a resident told Click Orlando.

A young girl named Avri Justice said ‘they just came up and circled around us,’ while Reagan Haynes said ‘they were big and they were just really scaring me.’

Apparently the turkeys have been terrorizing the quiet neighborhood for several weeks. ‘It’s really becoming a problem, they’re mean and really aggressive,’ Katie Justice said.

Haynes added it’s ‘scary to let our kids play in the front yard because we don’t know if the turkeys are going to be there. They’re going to show up and start chasing the kids.’

Officials from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have warned people to not feed the turkeys if they encounter them.

They have advised people to raise their voices or squirt a water bottle at them to frighten them away.

Apparently police are going to visit the neighborhood later this week to see if there is anything that can be done.
