TV star looks worlds away from her CBeebies days 16 years on from launch of hit show

An actress who starred in a hit show on CBeebies looks unrecognisable 16 years on from when it launched.

The programme came to screens back in 2007 and was packed with fun science experiments and an animated cast.

The TV star, who took on the lead role, now looks worlds away from the noughties character as she’s ditched her iconic bunches for a short pixie crop.

Do you know who it is? It’s Katrina Bryan from Nina and the Neurons!

Nina was a neuroscientist who enlists the help of five Neurons (animated characters representing the senses) in her brain to answer a scientific question.

The show ended in 2015.

Now 42, Katrina has switched up her darker locks for a more copper tone and has ditched the blue eyeshadow for a more natural look.

Since the show ended the actress has gone on to play pathologist Ellis Sinclair on Taggart and acted as Eloise in Emmerdale.

Katrina also starred in an Irn-Bru advert where she names her newborn baby Fanny, much to the shock of the baby’s father.

She also has a taste for the stage and starred in pantomime over Christmas.

The actress announced her engagement to long term partner Richard McCourt in 2019.

Katrina describes herself on her Instagram bio as: ‘Actor, previously had bunchies. #LocalHero #MollyandMack.’

CBeebies is a British public children’s television channel operated by the BBC, aimed at children aged six and under.

It broadcasts from 6am to 9pm daily, featuring a combination of shows and short, digestible videos which often break the fourth wall and speak directly to the children.

Presenters are used to lead activities with the children, educate them on topics, read stories and sing songs, along with introducing the shows that are due to air.
