Twins dressed as Trump and Pence meet President in Utah

  • Twins Trevor and Tristen Tharp are Donald Trump and Mike Pence impersonators
  • The pair went to Salt Lake City and met the real-life President Monday morning
  • Trump spotted them right away and came over to see the impression, Trevor said
  • He shook both their hands and signed their Make America Great Again caps

President Trump is not usually a fan of his impersonators, deriding Alec Baldwin’s efforts on Saturday Night Live as ‘unwatchable’ and ‘sad.’

But the was rather more enthusiastic when he met 16-year-old impressionist Trevor Tharp at Salt Lake City airport on Monday morning.

Trevor also does an imitation of the President alongside his twin brother Tristen, who poses up as Mike Pence – and unlike Baldwin’s performance, Trump loves it.

Speaking to Fox 13, Trevor described the moment Trump got off Air Force One.

He said: ‘He points directly at me and says, ‘You know I got to meet this kid and he goes you’re fantastic. I love this guy isn’t he fantastic?’

‘I was the first person to get a handshake and then my brother went to him and we got our hats signed.’

Speaking about the handshake, he added: ‘He’s got a really good grip and he pulls you forward to him so his arm is out like this it’s a firm handshake that’s for sure.’

Tristen said that he wasn’t sure the President would appreciate their impressions because he’s often described ‘as a rude person’, but he was pleasantly surprised.

The teenagers usually perform under the name of The Talented Twins and promote themselves via YouTube and Facebook.

They have also appeared on ABC’s The Gong Show, and even appeared at a Utah GOP event earlier this month.
