Twitter explodes with photos of Roseanne dressed in a Nazi uniform

Twitter has exploded with old photos of Roseanne Barr dressed as Hitler to remind her that it isn’t the first time she has been racist.

Barr has repeatedly hit out at accusations that she is racist ever since her show ‘Roseanne’ was canceled on Tuesday after she compared ex-Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape on Twitter.

Following the fallout, Barr apologized for the tweet about about Jarrett and said she had taken sleeping pills prior to sending the offensive message.

Despite insisting that she was sorry and regretted the tweet, Barr then returned to Twitter on Wednesday to reject accusations she is racist and said she is considering fighting back.

‘I’m not a racist, I never was & I never will be,’ she tweeted.

‘One stupid joke in a lifetime of fighting 4 civil rights 4 all minorities, against networks, studios, at the expense of my nervous system/family/wealth will NEVER b taken from me.’

In a second post she tweeted: ‘You guys make me feel like fighting back. I will examine all of my options carefully and get back to U.’

Twitter users quickly fired back with examples of times she had in fact been racist or offensive, including the time she posed as Hitler in a Nazi uniform for a 2009 photoshoot.

In the photos, Barr was dressed as the Nazi leader while baking cookies.

‘Oh honey… you’ve had way more than one stupid joke,’ one Twitter user wrote alongside the Hitler photo.

‘I can’t believe Roseanne is an unhinged racist. If only there were signs,’ another said.

‘Roseanne, posing as Hitler with little burned human cookies. This woman is GARBAGE.

‘People are all talking about @therealroseanne insults at Valerie Jarrett, but few said a word about her baking Jew cookies as Hitler. Yes – that’s a thing that happened…’

Barr repeatedly hit back at her attackers on Twitter as she continued to deny that she was racist.

‘I’m a Jew, u don’t get to call me a nazi for making fun of Hitler. Educate yourself on the other subjects – you’re a low info citizen,’ she tweeted to one critic.

Earlier on Wednesday, President Donald Trump had waded into the row while the pharmaceutical company which makes Barr’s brand of sleeping pill said ‘racism is not a known side effect’.

Trump had hit out at Bob Iger, chief executive of Disney, who own ABC.

He wrote on Twitter: ‘Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that ‘ABC does not tolerate comments like those’ made by Roseanne Barr.’

Barr served as a star and executive producer on the ABC show, which was a ratings phenomenon when it returned to US television earlier this year for a 10th series, after its original run came to an end in May 1997.

The return was watched by an estimated 18.4 million viewers in the US and Trump phoned Barr to congratulate her on the success.

Barr has apologised to her colleagues who lost their jobs after she sent a now-deleted tweet referring to former Barack Obama adviser Jarrett as a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Planet Of The Apes.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, she said she believed the show was axed because of a threatened boycott of the show’s advertisers.

She also addressed fans, writing: ‘hey guys, don’t defend me, it’s sweet of you 2 try, but…losing my show is 0 compared 2 being labelled a racist over one tweet-that I regret even more.’

She added: ‘Guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please. ty.’

She added: ‘Please don’t start all of that boycott abc stuff-I’m not a censor and they have the right to do what they wish. It’ all ok. thanks tho guys!

‘I’m sorry 4 my tweet, AND I will also defend myself as well as talk to my followers. so, go away if u don’t like it. I will handle my sadness the way I want to. I’m tired of being attacked & belittled more than other comedians who have said worse.

‘I think Joe Rogan is right about ambien. Not giving excuses for what I did(tweeted) but I’ve done weird stuff while on ambien-cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc.’

ROSEANNE’S CONTROVERSIAL TWITTER THROUGH THE YEARS

While Roseanne Barr’s tweet about Valerie Jarrett was the final straw for ABC, the comedian has been stirring up controversy on Twitter for years.

Barr came under fire on the very night the revival of Roseanne premiered in April when she accused Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg of giving a ‘Nazi Salute’.

It appeared Barr was jumping on the conspiracy theory that Hogg and other survivors of the horrific school shooting were Nazis.

Barr swiftly took the tweet down and claimed that she had seen a ‘doctored’ image of Hogg.

But internet sleuths found a grab of Barr’s original tweet, which revealed she was commenting on picture of Hogg raising his fist at the March For Our Lives rally.

That same week, Barr also made headlines when she tweeted about a bizarre right-wing conspiracy theory claiming Trump broke up a pedophile ring created by Democratic politicians.

Barr claimed that it was Trump who had freed ‘so many children held in bondage to pimps all over this world’.

‘He has broken up trafficking rings in high places everywhere. notice that. I disagree on some things, but give him benefit of doubt-4 now,’ she added.

The tweet was similar to when, in 2015, Barr revealed that she believed the Pizzagate conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton was running a child sex-ring in a pizza shop.

‘Americans! The reason #DEMOCRATS aren’t approving #Sessions is bc he will prosecure #HRC – and make arrests over PedoGate RT THIS!! WAKE UP!!’

Barr was slammed and derided for the tweets. She later apologized for mentioning child trafficking and said Twitter was ‘not the place for it’.

‘Women do not want your penises forced in their faces or in private bathrooms. Respect that,’ she wrote.

After the comedian’s most recent Twitter controversies came to light, Walt Disney President Ben Sherwood responded that ‘you can’t control Roseanne Barr’.

‘Many who have tried have failed. She’s the one and only,’ he added.

But as Tuesday’s news has proved, you can still cancel here.
