Twitter users poke fun at Biden’s blunder asking voters to ‘go to Joe 30330’

Long night, Joe? Befuddled Biden gets confused at the end of the debate and flubs his lines when asking voters to ‘go to Joe 30330’ – and Twitter won’t let him forget it

  • The ex-VP blundered his own promo at Wednesday’s night Democratic debate
  • In his closing remarks, the 76-year-old asked supporters to ‘go to Joe 3-0-3-3-0’
  • A befuddled Biden mixed up his web address with the number voters can text
  • Twitter users poked fun at the former VP’s slip-up, quipping ‘the internet is hard’
  • The website domain was quickly snapped up, first leading to a Buttigieg campaign page, and later to a site for ‘the first Gen Z’er’ to run for office

Former Vice President Joe Biden blundered his own promo at Wednesday’s night Democratic debate, mixing up his web address with a number to text.

The granddad moment came in his closing remarks, when the 76-year-old asked supporters to ‘go to Joe 3-0-3-3-0 and help me in this fight.’

Biden was probably befuddled after a night of attacks from his rivals.

The ex-VP quickly tweeted the correct way for supports to show their approval after the debate.

‘If you liked what you heard tonight, text JOE to 30330 and let’s get to work,’ Biden wrote.

Internet pranksters pounced at Biden’s mistake, snatching up the domain name and redirecting Joe30330.com to a fundraising page for his rival Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

It was later changed to redirect people to joshforamerica.com, a website for ‘the first Gen Z’er to declare candidacy for office,’ who says he is ‘not joshin’ you’.

Biden also showed his age when he used one of his favorite old-fashioned words in the debate – ‘malarkey’.

Twitter users poked fun at the presidential hopeful’s slip-up.

‘The internet is hard,’ someone wrote with a clip of Biden’s blunder.

One person posted a picture of someone trying to decipher complicated calculations with the caption: ‘Me trying to figure out Joe Biden’s website.’

‘Love that Joe Biden trusts us enough to give us his pin number,’ quipped another.

Someone else wrote: ‘Joe Biden right now’ with a picture of a man saying ‘What’s a text?’

‘JOE30330??!!! GO THERE?! HOW JOE?! HOW TO I GO TO JOE30330?!’ a confused Twitter user wrote.

Others struck a more serious note.

‘How is Joe Biden going to take it to Trump when he can’t even take us to his website?,’ one person tweeted.

Someone else commented: ‘Pretty harsh to mix up a text number with a web address, especially in his closing statement… especially at the end of his closing statement.’

Biden similarly stumbled as he gave the number for supporters to text at his campaign kick-off speech in Philadelphia in May.

‘If you want to be part of this campaign, pick up your phones… Send a text to the word ‘United’ to the number 30330. OK? That’s ‘United’ 30330. Or 303330 or 300 … but you got it. It’s on the back there,’ he laughed.
