An American Twitter user has sent followers wild with her unusual time-saving tip to making your bed, suggesting you put three fitted sheets on at once

The Twitter user went online on Tuesday and wrote: ‘I don’t know who needs to hear this but you can put two or three fitted sheets on your bed at a time and just remove the top one when it’s dirty instead of always folding them and putting them away’.

Thrilled, a user replied: ‘I have 200 fitted sheets on my bed now what!’.

Another posted a Hackerman gif, writing: ‘Lifehacks’, while one admitted: ‘I’ve done this many times with trash bags in a bin. Never thought of doubling and tripling up my sheets’.

But others were not as thrilled, arguing that any dirt would seep through to the ‘clean’ sheets underneath the top one.

One outraged user wrote: ‘You clearly don’t get nightmare sweats the way I do’.

Another argued: ‘That means all the sheets on the bed are dirty’, while one wrote: ‘Mites fall through. Body oils/ fluid seep. Yeh, no’.

Agreeing, a horrifed user tweeted: ‘If it wasn’t for the dead skin cells we shed as we sleep, I would say this is clever. But they easily pass thru sheets threads, I have a mattress barrier for that reason. Plus it takes :15 to put new ones on’.

And besides hygiene, others said the other the sheets would be impossible to keep tidy.

‘Nope nope nope. It’s hard enough to keep one fitted sheet perfectly stretched and wrinkle free. Several layered on top of each other would be super uncomfortable for my tactile sensitive self’, another wrote.

But others were not as thrilled, arguing that any dirt would seep through to the 'clean' sheets underneath the top one.

And the original Twitter user admitted she was surprised by the reaction her suggestion had caused.

She added to the thread: ‘Guys if you have an issue with sweating at night, you can absolutely choose to not do this and I love you but I don’t need to know about your night sweats I promise.

‘Damn I didn’t realize so many people felt so strongly about sheets y’all know you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to right, like just do whatever you want there’s no need to be nasty to me I swear!’.
