Two young children have been rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected overdose.

A boy and a girl believed to be aged four and five, were found unconscious inside a house in Airds, Sydney’s southwest and were transported to Westmead Children’s Hospital for treatment.

It is understood the children may have ‘consumed tablets’.

Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command have established a crime scene and an investigation is now underway.

A 29-year-old woman is now assisting police with their inquiries.

A hospital spokesperson said a five-year-old boy was in a critical but stable condition. The four-year-old girl is in a stable condition.
