Police have caught two people driving while high on ice in the same car just minutes apart.

The first driver was pulled over on Mortlock Terrace, in Port Lincoln on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, at 4.30pm on Friday.

The 44-year-old male driver from Murdinga tested positive to methamphetamine and was ordered not to drive.

Police then stopped the same car less than five minutes later on First Avenue, this time with a female driver at the wheel.

The woman, 37, from Lock, also tested positive to methamphetamine and was allegedly driving unlicensed and had been disqualified from driving.

The car was defected and impounded and both drivers were reported – the male driver for causing/permitting the unlicensed woman to drive.

Samples were sent for forensic examination, and the pair will appear in court at a later date.
