Two girls aged one and two are found dead after being left inside a hot car outside a home

Two little girls have died after being left inside a hot car outside a home in Queensland’s south-east.

Emergency services were called to a home in Logan Reserve Road in the Logan suburb of Waterford West, south of Brisbane just after 1.30pm on Saturday.

The girls were aged one and two, were found unresponsive in a car outside the private residence and were unable to be revived, despite the desperate efforts of paramedics.

At least two ambulance crews were called to the tragic scene in Logan on Saturday

A crime scene has been established at the home to investigate the sudden deaths of the youngsters.

Police remain at the home to investigate how the tragedy unfolded.

‘No further information is available at this time,’ a police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.

Temperatures reached a top of 31C in Logan on Saturday.

Emergency services rescue more than 2,000 unattended children in cars each year.

The temperature inside a parked car can be more than 30 degrees hotter than outside the car, according to the NRMA.

Up to 75 per cent of the temperature increase occurs within five minutes of the car being closed.

‘A child left in a parked car under those conditions for even a few minutes can very quickly become distressed, dehydrated and can die from organ failure,’ the NRMA website states.

More to come.
