Two injured in drunk driving Californian golf cart crash

  • Forristall escaped with minor injuries but his two passengers were severely hurt

Two people have been seriously injured in a drunken golf cart crash at an elite Californian country club, police said.

Dino Glennon Forristall, 65, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after the crash on New Year’s Eve at Green Valley Country Club in unincorporated Solano County, SFgate reports.

Forristall, of Pinole, California, escaped with minor injuries after he made an unsafe turn in the golf cart and plummeted down a 30-foot embankment, police said.

But his two passengers suffered much more serious injuries, including a broken back and a broken arm, according to the the California Highway Patrol.

Ambulances arrived at the scene at around 10.30pm and rushed the two passengers, who have not been named, to hospital.

But Forristall, a married father and owner of Industrial Ladder and Scaffolding, Inc., was arrested for the DUI.
