A spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Correction said that at about 7pm on Friday, the officers were freed.
They suffered lacerations and bruising, according to ArkansasMatters.com.
Officials said that the hostage situation ended thanks to ‘the use of force.’
The two inmates and the two correctional officers were taken to hospital for treatment.
