Two men are rushed to hospital after a double stabbing in broad daylight in north London

  • Met Police were called to West Green Road, in Tottenham, at 9.35am on Sunday
  • They found two men who had been stabbed, and a third person was assaulted
  • Both men have been taken to hospital. There is no update on their condition 

Two men have been rushed to hospital after a double stabbing in a butchers shop in a broad daylight in north London.

Officers were called to West Green Halal Meat and Groceries store on West Green Road, in Tottenham, at 9.35am today, and found two men – aged 29 and 40 – stabbed, and a third man who had been assaulted. 

Both the men were taken to hospital for treatment by air ambulance. The man aged 40 is in a stable condition. There is no update on the other man’s current condition. 

Witnesses tweeted that the two shopkeepers were attacked by a group of teenagers carrying knives however Metropolitan Police has not confirmed this.

A spokesman said: ‘No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue. A crime scene remains in place.’

The force added that there was nothing to suggest the incident was a robbery.

It comes a day after two more stabbing incidents in Lawless London, including a man in his early 20s receiving multiple stab wounds at Westfield Shopping Centre, in Shepherd’s Bush.

The victim was treated by paramedics before being taken to a west London hospital. Metropolitan police confirmed his injuries are non-life threatening.

Just hours prior a man was left fighting for his life after being stabbed in east London.

Officers were called to Turner Street in Whitechapel at 2.05pm to reports of men fighting.

One man was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital in a critical condition, the Met police said.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and have been taken into custody.
