Police say two men who set off acid bombs in an Orlando neighborhood surrendered following a several-hour standoff.

The suspects were identified as Bruce Steffenhagan, 57, and Nathan Martin, 35. Neighbors near Steffenhagan’s home at 4400 block of Beach Boulevard heard an explosion Tuesday morning before officers arrived to the scene.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jane Watrel said the two men stayed locked inside the home and were uncooperative with police for several hours.

Neighbors reported hearing a ‘boom’ around 9:30am, and Steffenhagan did not come out of the home until about 1:15pm, according to WFTV.

Martin, who formerly lived in the home, later came out around 3pm.

‘Deputies then learned there were four more people associated with the home, either living there or visiting there,” Watrel added.

‘Two males came out of the home at different points. A couple refused to come out until approximately 5:40pm.’
