Two men were captured on CCTV allegedly stealing a dinghy from the Dinah Beach Yacht Club in the Northern Territory.

The men were seen swimming to the yacht club under the cover of darkness while ignoring the threat of crocodiles, jellyfish and sharks before climbing into the dingy when one of the men mooned security cameras.

The dinghy, which is usually stored on land, is owned by Oliver Vicrower who told NT News that he saw a crocodile near the wharf a few hours before it was stolen.

‘It was about two minutes of footage of the two guys who swam around from who knows where and they jumped on to the boat and they were gone,’ Mr Vicrower said.

An NT Police spokesperson spoke to Daily Mail Australia and said the owner had advised police the boat was stolen about 11pm on February 15 and this was the second time the boat had been stolen.

Wendy McCallum, Dinah Beach Yacht Club general manager, told NT News it was disappointing thieves stole the boat and new initiatives were being put in place to prevent future thefts.

‘For somebody to steal someone’s mode of transport is a pretty low act and in a couple of weeks we are having our safety and access upgrade to the pontoon,’ Ms McCallum said.

The NT Police spokesperson said the owner had spoken to police and the boat had not been recovered.

‘The owner of the boat possesses the CCTV footage but due to poor quality of the footage the men are unidentifiable but investigations are continuing.’

The owner has reported the incident to police and says the boat has been stolen once before
