Two people are dead and a child is in a serious condition in hospital after a horrific house fire.
Emergency services were called to a house on Rottnest Avenue in Hinchinbrook, in southwest Sydney, just after 5.40am on Sunday after reports of a blaze.
Six people were evacuated from the house, three able to flee themselves and three rescued by firefighters – including the child.
The group were treated by paramedics but two died at the scene.

Ten fire trucks fought the inferno at the scene on Sunday morning, with it only extinguished well after the rescue efforts.
It’s not clear yet what triggered the fire but police are investigating.
The child was rushed to Westmead Children’s Hospital and remains in a serious condition.
The two who died are yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established and forensic police will scour the ruins later on Sunday.
A report on the two deaths will be prepared for the coroner.
