Emergency crews and a rescue helicopter found two men, aged 25 and 31, bleeding profusely from gunshot wounds outside the home.

The younger man was treated for a wound to his lower back and the older man for a wound to his torso. Both were then taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police are now on the hunt for two men who were at the home and were seen fleeing following the altercation with the injured pair.

‘We know there was an altercation between two parties on the street. Our belief is the persons were known to each other,’ Inspector Sean McWhirter said.

Insp McWhirter said the shooting started in the front of the house and ended up on the road.
