Two suspected mail thieves are found with 108 packages and envelopes in their car after flipping it over in California police chase

  • Jeremy Blumlein, 41, and passenger Breanna Maier, 26, were arrested by police 
  • 108 packages addressed to 56 people at 32 addresses were found
  • Methamphetamine, multiple gift cards, and cash also discovered in the vehicle
  • Drivers were reported to police after they were spotted in Durham, California 

Two suspected mail thieves have been caught with 108 packages and envelopes in their car after it flipped over following a police chase. 

Jeremy Blumlein, 41, and passenger Breanna Maier, 26, were reported to officers in Durham, California, at 1.50am after a resident spotted them appearing to take packages out of mailboxes.

They were pursued after a sergeant spotted a car matching the description. Both were arrested on charges of identity theft, mail theft and probation violence.

Blumlein was also accused of felony reckless evading and possession of a controlled substance. 

Passenger Breanna Maier, 26, was also arrested as she was also in the vehicle

The packages seized from the vehicle were addressed to 56 people from 37 different  homes in Durham and Chico, about 90 miles north of Sacramento, the Butte County Sheriff’s office said on Tuesay.

Methamphetamine and a wallet containing multiple gift cards and hundreds of dollars was also found inside the vehicle.

The car rolled over after turning off the Oro-Chico highway.

Both drivers were uninjured in the crash. Blumlein is from Chico and Maier is from Magalia.
