Tyson Fury leads Las Vegas audience in rendition of American Pie following the Gypsy King’s stunning KO win over Deontay Wilder… with 88-year-old promoter Bob Arum handed the mic!

Tyson Fury was true to form following his stunning win over Deontay Wilder as he grabbed the microphone to perform a rendition of ‘American Pie’ in front of a mesmerised MGM Grand.

Fury secured an unlikely knockout victory over the all-conquering Wilder in a dominant display that saw the Bronze Bomber floored twice before his corner threw in the towel to put him out of his misery.

After having his arm raised to the Las Vegas sky by referee Kenny Bayless, Fury jumped on the microphone and wowed the crowd with a vocal performance.

‘I want to say thank you to my lord and savior Jesus Christ,’ he said. ‘I want to say big shout out to Deontay Wilder. He came here tonight and he really showed heart of a champion. He is a warrior, he will be back, he will be a champion again.

‘But I will say the King has returned to the top of the throne. I said I’d sing a song tonight didn’t I?’

The 6ft 9in star then broke into a rendition of American Pie – a song he performed in the press conference following his controversial draw with Wilder in December 2018.

Fury’s entourage sang in unison with wife Paris proudly watching on as her husband sang with the famous green belt over his shoulder. At one stage Fury passed the microphone to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, 88, who joined in.

The Gypsy King’s win caps off a remarkable fairytale comeback story in which Fury, after capturing Wladimir Klitschko’s world titles, fell into depression before returning to the sport to reclaim his throne.

Wilder had been looking to pick up from where he left off in the first fight, as he went close to handing Fury his first professional loss before the Brit picked himself back up off the canvas in the 12th round.

However, Fury was the aggressor from the outset, landing clean combinations while evading Wilder’s booming right hands, before making the all-important breakthrough in the third as he floored the 35-year-old.

Wilder would survive a second knockdown in the fifth before his corner threw in the towel to hand Fury a famous victory.
