‘Walking in Vegas!’: Tyson Fury serenades fans to rendition of ‘Walking in Memphis’ and chants of ‘Lancashire, la, la, la’ after defeating Deontay Wilder in trilogy bout
Tyson Fury capped a sensational trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder in trademark fashion as he serenaded fans at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to the tune of ‘Walking in Memphis’.
The Gypsy King retained his WBC heavyweight title after knocking out Wilder in the 11th round of a stunning bout, which saw both boxers hit the canvas.
Fury floored Wilder in the third stanza, but hit the floor himself twice in the following round before knocking down the Bronze Bomber in the 10th and 11th round to retain his belt.
Following the obligatory post-fight interviews in the ring, Fury got hold of the microphone and launched into a rendition of Marc Cohn’s hugely popular tune.
The Briton’s a cappella version differed slightly from the original, which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 1992 Grammy Awards, as Fury changed ‘Memphis’ to ‘Las Vegas’ to thank the fans that had packed the T-Mobile Arena.
‘Thank you very much,’ Fury said as he finished singing.
‘Vegas, I love you baby.’

The 33-year-old then paid homage to his roots, belting out a ‘Lancashire, la, la, la’ chant before handing the microphone back.
Fury was born in Wythenshawe in south Manchester and resides with his family in Morecambe, a seaside town in the City of Lancaster district of Lancashire.
The WBC heavyweight champion of the world isn’t new to singing exploits. Following his rematch with Wilder in February 2020, which he won by KO, Fury treated the fans to a rendition of Don McLean’s ‘American Pie’.

With his second win over Wilder, Fury has cemented himself as one of the great heavyweights of the modern era,
‘It was a great fight, worthy of the best trilogies,’ he said shortly after the fight.
‘I will not make any excuses, Wilder is a top fighter, he gave me a run for my money.
‘I always say I am the best fighter in the world and he is the second best. Don’t ever doubt me. When the chips are down I can always deliver.’
