Tziporah Malkah says former fiance James Packer’s father Kerry ‘raged at him for hours at a time’

Tziporah Malkah, formerly known as Kate Fischer, was engaged to James Packer for two years before splitting in 1998.

And the 44-year-old claims she witnessed the billionaire businessman endure a difficult relationship with his late father, Kerry Packer, who died in 2005.

Speaking to Sunday Night, the former model revealed that the Australian media tycoon would ‘rage’ at his son.

‘Kerry would rage at him for hours’: Tziporah Malkah discusses former fiancé James Packer’s difficult relationship with his late dad and says when the billionaire ‘was finally off his father’s leash’ he dated women ‘less safe’ women like Mariah Carey

After one such alleged episode, Tziporah said she ‘peeked in’ at her partner when he was spending an excessive amount of time in the shower.

‘Kerry would rage at him for hours at a time. He never really wanted to show me the extent of his upset, but once I did sneak a look when he thought he was alone.

‘He was in the shower and he just was standing there with the water running over his face, and he’d been in there 40 minutes. And this was like a daily occurrence. So I peeked in, and he was a mess.’

Discussing her former partner’s relationship with Mariah Carey, Tziporah said the union was evidence that James was ‘off the leash’ after his father’s passing.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to James Packer for comment.

Referring to James’ former wives and girlfriends as ‘sort of safe’ the former model said: ‘And then, of course, when Kerry died and he was the man, he could, you know, go after the world’s biggest diva’.

‘And how exciting for him. He was finally off the leash, off his father’s leash’ Tziporah added.

The casino mogul had previously been married to models Jodhi Meares and Erica Baxter.

James first met Mariah in Aspen, Colorado in late 2013 and their relationship made headlines around the world.

The 51-year-old billionaire spoke candidly about the couple’s failed relationship in the new biography The Price Of Fortune: The Untold Story Of Being James Packer.

According to a previous Who magazine article, James admitted in the book that the romance was initially ‘fun’, but he was nonetheless in a dark place mentally.

The casino mogul – who was later admitted to a rehabilitation centre in March 2018 – confessed he was struggling with his mental health in the midst of their relationship.

In February 2016, just a month after he proposed to Mariah with a $12.7million (USD$10million) 35-carat diamond ring, he was apparently not coping well.

‘I was in a bad, bad way,’ James said, reflecting on that dark period of his life.

As well as struggling with depression and anxiety, James was facing financial strain.

‘I don’t know if I started crying, but I thought to myself, ‘I don’t want to have $1.4billion of debt any more. Why am I doing this?” he revealed.

Adding to the pressure was Mariah’s entourage, who reportedly demanded that James buy her a $250,000 wedding dress.

Eventually, the toll became too much and the relationship collapsed, with James and Mariah abruptly calling it quits in October 2016.

Tziporah and James first began dating in 1994, and were known as the country’s hottest couple, sharing a love nest in Sydney’s Bondi.

James was the handsome son of media mogul Kerry Packer, at the time the richest man in Australia with a net worth of $3billion.

After the pair ended their engagement, Tziporah left for Los Angeles, where she sought a Hollywood acting career.

However, she lost the bulk of her $3.5 million fortune in an investment gone bad, admitting the rest of the money was spent on ‘lifestyle’.

Speaking with radio host Steve Price on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2017, the former model revealed she had been ‘swindled’ by a rabbi.

‘The rabbi turns out to be a conman. I got swept away a little bit with him. He was incredibly charismatic. He was very convincing.

‘I was stupid and I was in love. And I thought maybe the son of a billionaire might lie to me, but why would a rabbi lie to me?’ she said.

Returning home to Australia penniless, the former A-lister spent 22 months in a homeless shelter.

Describing the day she arrived at the single women’s refuge in Melbourne during an interview on The Project in 2017, she said: ‘I was numb, in shock, I sat on the bed and wept. It was pretty overwhelming.’

‘I just felt so ashamed, and so frightened of being recognised,’ she added. ‘I was quite reluctant to kind of talk to anybody for quite a long time.’
