UEFA ‘set to reveal plans to play Champions League games every three days from August 7 next week’ with final scheduled for end of the month 

UEFA are reportedly set to present their plans for the Champions League with the tournament being played out from August 7-31.

That will see teams play a game every three days until the Final on August 29.

Football has been put on hold across the globe due to the coronavirus pandemic, Europe’s premier competition currently in the round of 16 stage.

A series of meetings will be held during from Tuesday to Thursday in order to discuss how and when to conclude the current season amid the crisis.

Sky Sport Italia claim that the plan is for the cup competitions will be completed in August, once clubs have finished their domestic campaigns. 

The remaining second leg fixtures, between Lyon and Juventus and Barcelona and Napoli, would be played on August 7 and 8.

Then games will be played every three days for home and away quarter-finals, semi-finals and the one-off final.

The semi-finals would be on August 18-19, 21-22, then the Final in Istanbul on August 29. In turn, the 2020-21 season Champions League group phase would not begin until October 20.
