‘Who the f*** is this jack*** in the pink Jimmy Savile glasses’: Conor McGregor takes a swipe at Jake Paul after watching him promote Amanda Serrano… but YouTuber-turned-boxer hits back by mocking UFC star’s run of defeats

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and Jake Paul exchanged words on social media in the aftermath of Katie Taylor’s victory over Amanda Serrano on Saturday night.

Paul was in attendance as Serrano, who he promotes, lost to McGregor’s compatriot Taylor, via split decision at a sold-out Madison Square Garden.

Following the fight, McGregor lashed out at Paul comparing the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s glasses to the ones that disgraced former television and radio personality Jimmy Savile used to wear.

McGregor wrote on Twitter: ‘Who the f*** is this jackass in the pink Jimmy Savile glasses?’

Paul, as expected, didn’t take too kindly to the comments as he responded: ‘I’m the one who has done more for fighters than you ever have; the one who has won five fights in the past two years while you have lost five.

‘The one who isn’t owned by Dana White, the one who made the fight you just watched happen, the one who got your hero Katie Taylor paid, that’s who.’

McGregor simply responded with a picture of Savile, wearing pink glasses like Paul did on Saturday night.

The former UFC champion also had a message of congratulations for his compatriot Taylor.

He said: ‘Katie Taylor the greatest! Absolutely incredible boxing. Take a bow ladies! What a contest.’

Despite Paul’s comments, McGregor has only fought twice in the last 24 months, both defeats to Dustin Poirier.

Paul meanwhile holds five victories since January 2020, over YouTuber AnEsonGib, former basketball player Nate Robinson, Ben Askren and a pair of wins over Tyron Woodley.

Paul has regularly called out McGregor in the past and suggested for a fight between the pair.

UFC president Dana White said that the Irishman should not be fighting Jake or his older brother Logan.

White said earlier this year: ‘Well, he shouldn’t even be fighting Conor McGregor. These guys (Paul brothers) are f*****g huge, he’s huge, his brother’s huge. He’s 6’1, 210, Conor McGregor’s 145, 155lbs… There’s weight classes for a reason.’

To which Paul replied saying: ‘Dana White is begging for (Nate) Diaz and Conor to fight for a third time…they have fought at 170 pounds in both their fights.’

Paul went on to say: ‘I will fight Conor at 175 pounds, no problem Stop making excuses p******’.

The dialogue between Paul and White took place after the boxer employed his trademark trash talk tactics – calling out McGregor over a video the Notorious posted of him sparring as part of his recovery from the leg injury he sustained against Poirier.

Paul followed his jibe at McGregor up with a message to UFC chief, White. He took to Twitter to say: ‘Dana — since you like me now, how about a 1-fight deal to fight Conor.

‘If I win, you agree to my UFC fighter pay and healthcare proposal. If I lose, I donate my entire purse to all UFC fighters who make less than ($50,000) a fight and never mention UFC again. Deal?’.

He also went on to say: ‘I would KO Conor in boxing or MMA. Right hand of god.’
